Good morning sleepy head! You will be happy to know that I'm currently on my way back to your room with coffee and a surprise. No, it's not Cap wearing nothing but a bow. Honestly, Kaplan, get your mind out of the gutter. It's something sugary and covered in chocolate.
No, it's not me covered in chocolate either. Can't take you anywhere with that mind of yours.
When you wake up you'll find your coffee and eclair by your bed.
Oops, spoilers!
I took Rufus out since he was giving me the puppy equivalent of the "I've Got to Pee" dance. I just did a re-enactment right now. Put that under "Things you should have been there to see" category.
[ Okay, he's done this once, he can figure it out again. After a few swear words and no context, the video screen turns on to a kid in his late teens. He's out of uniform in his room, looking triumphant at his mastery of this tiny device. Suck it, twenty-first century! ]
Hey can you watch thedogs for me tonight? I have something I need to take care of and I don't know how long it might take. They're up in my room on the 7th floor.
911 do you have witchy tea recipes in your world? bc i don't want to think it should smell like feet but every variation i test out smells like FEET. and adding flavoring only makes it worse!
[Dorian wasn't so sure what to get Billy at first, but simple research revealed the fellow was running a movie theater and a "Magic Studies training room" of some sort. A good starting point if anything.]
[Come Christmas morning, there will be a delicately wrapped present on Billy's doorstep. Rip the paper away, and Billy would find a Harry Potter cookbook. Hey, it's magic, and there has apparently been a movie made out of it. There is also a bowl of Christmas pudding in case Billy was hungry. Attached to the present was a handwritten note that read:]
Dear Mr. Kaplan, I hope you may find these gifts to your liking. I'm afraid we haven't spoken to eachother too much, but from what I understand you're a rather kind fellow. Perhaps we may meet in person some day. Sincerely, Your Secret Santa, D. Gray

[ As much as Darcy might've liked to get everything out in time, Wonderland had a weird way of screwing up her plans. So, after a solid day's sleep, she starts making her rounds - dropping off gifts on each floor while using a little red wagon. In front of Billy's door, he'll find a basket that contains:
• a blanket • a festive mug • a few different flavors of tea • honey • another mug of hot chocolate supplies with a note to just add hot milk • a chocolate dipped stirring spoon • ridiculous fuzzy socks • a tiny stuffed animal • assorted candy • an ornament • and a tiny blowtorch
There's a note dangling from one of the handles that reads:
Hope Wonderland's attempts at holiday cheer didn't go too poorly for you. Here are a few supplies to help get back into the swing of things. We'll have to set things on fire again soon. Happy Holidays!
( it's about three days after freya's mirror has left her mark that elena hears a knock on her door.
she's all glamorous in her sweatpants and a messy ponytail, choosing to stick close to home until all this blows over. it feels wrong, almost: to find shelter, however fragile, when so many other terrible things are happening. she just doesn't have it in her to help this time, and she's been here long enough—and feels cynical enough—to understand there is nothing to be done if wonderland decides to have its way. all they can really do is stay out of that way.
brow furrowed in curiosity, elena pads her way over to the front entrance. her fingers close around the knob of the door, and whereas she'd have opened it casually in the past, after what happened... after what happened, she swallows a bit instead. hesitates. ) Who is it?
[ Billy had been stuck on the mirror side for about a day or so, wandering and wondering just what havoc his mirror was causing over on the real side of the mirrors. Once he got back his immediately took to the network, scrolling back to make sure he his mirror hadn't hurt anyone and to see what he missed. That when he stumbled upon Caroline telling Peter that Elena had died.
His heart had stopped for a moment at that and he hadn't know what to do. Elena was the very last person that deserved to go through that and his heart broke for her. He'd done it twice, and the last time- well he didn't let himself think about the last time. But he knew he needed to check up on her, because being alone was never a good idea.
So he was outside her door, rocking on his heels as she asked who it was. ]
[Roughly two hours after Teddy's rough welcome to Wonderland, he decides to text Billy. Maybe it won't be welcome. Maybe Billy won't answer at all, but--
He's spent the last two hours walking the grounds before finding a room for himself and collapsing on the bed, trying to dissect everything he could remember from Billy's rant. There was so much he didn't understand, so much he hadn't been here for, but Billy was hurting. He could never think of anything else when Billy was hurting.]
I've been thinking about what you said, and I can barely make sense of most of it, but I know I hurt you. I'm sorry. For what I said, and whatever I might have done that I don't remember. I just want to understand. Can we talk more, please? I'll just listen, if that's easier.
[ Billy takes a while to respond. Partly because he was trying to drown in a bottle of whiskey with Elena and partly because he's somewhat sensible enough to know he shouldn't text Teddy back after said drowning in whiskey. Hours later Teddy will get a reply. ]
i'm sorry. i shouldn't have blown up on you, you have enough to deal with being in this place, you don't need my baggage too.
I think Elena's gone like back to Mystic Falls. Not- not back forever. Her stuff's still here but she's not.
( He managed to get just enough out of Damon to get out that much, but given the man's reaction, he can only assume Elena's going back to a certain kind of hell that he doesn't want to imagine. He's talked about a lot of different things with Billy but not Teddy specifically so he doesn't realize the connection. )
I had a feeling. I couldn't get a hold of her and Damon hasn't been at the bar.
[ But her name was still in his phone so she was likely going to be back at some point, and further along in time. He won't be surprised that apeter didn't make the connection. He hadn't spoken about Teddy by name to anyone but Elena, so if they hadn't been here when Teddy was last time they wouldn't understand the significance to Billy.]
An alternate of Jon's father showed up and someone from my family did too, without memory of me. Does it ever stop being so taxing seeing people you know not know you?
[ That’s a loaded question, and one Damian might not like the answer to. ]
No. at least not for me. It still stings every time I have to prove myself capable to people I’ve already proved it to. And the blank light ok on their faces when you talk to them for the first time always sucks.
billy and elena check up on each other after an event without fail. even when the event itself isn't too traumatic, they still make time for each other. this time, it's elena's turn to bring dinner for them, since they usually meet up at the movie theater later on when no one is around. when billy arrives, elena is still going over movie options. she thinks something light-hearted is in order, but she'd like to keep billy's preferences in mind, too.
[ He’s not running too late but he’s not surprised to see Elena already in the theater. She was always the first to arrive even when he was actually trying. But that was just them, he was used to it and he wouldn’t change it.
She’s browsing movies when he walks in and puts his snack contribution on one of the chairs. ]
Have anything in mind?
[ He’s pretty easy when it comes to movies. He’ll watch anything. ]
