( Peter didn't make the connection at all since he'd never heard the name before, but he still hears Billy's response. He hears the way Billy replies and Peter worries about what might be happening. )
I'm okay. Worried. ( Mystic Falls is not a safe place from what he does know of it, and Mary Jane showing up has been- It's been amazing and confusing, and he only hopes he's navigating it well, the whole different universes thing, but his priority is Billy at the moment. Elena and Billy are obviously a lot closer, but the three of them are friends and he wants to check in on him, to let him know if he needs someone to talk to then he can talk to Peter. )
[ He can guess why Peter would be worried, he and Elena have spoken extensively about their homes and yeah, Billy is worried too. Peter does sound like he has things on his mind, and frankly Billy is always up for hanging out with his friend. ]
( They can worry together. It helps, and he's still not used to having friends to rely on, but it's- it's pretty cool. It helps so he's not just holed up in his room somewhere. )
[ It was good to have friends, Billy spent most of his life not having friends and once he found some people who weaseled their way into his life it was hard to go back to that life. Which might be why he was always pretty persistent with Peter. They were a lot alike.
He makes it down to the coffee shop before Peter, the benefits of teleportation really, and he's got a drink and a table by the time Peter shows up. He waves him down- not like Billy is hard to spot in the small shop, and he shoots him a grin. ]
I wasn't sure what you wanted. [ So he figured Peter could grab his own drink. ]
( Peter sends Billy a wave and a smile when he shows up. )
If you knew what I wanted, I'd be impressed and a little confused and offended about you becoming a psychic and not telling me. ( He heads to the counter to get his own drink. Peter grew up on plain coffee since he never had money for the fancy stuff from cafes, which means he has a pretty plain drink as he heads back. Coffee with some milk in it as he sits across from his friend. )

( Peter shakes his head lightly. He remembers how difficult the first week with his powers were as he tried to figure out what all they were, what they could do. It must be hard to have powers that are always unpredictable. )

( Peter admits, sliding a hand behind his neck thoughtfully, as he remembers how deeply they'd kissed each other even with that Peter near death. She'd saved him. He smiles at the thought of her owning a club though. He can definitely see that,
and then Peter blinks, lifting his head, as his face flushes a bit and he clears his throat. ) Well, yeah, cause she is. She's wonderful. I don't think I've ever met anyone like her before. She's- She's something else.
( The words leave him, because he doesn't possibly know how to put it into words. She's this ray of light, this flickering fire in the dark. And stuff. )

( y'know, his cat. then they argued about how it wasn't his cat but was, and it was cute and fun. and he felt this spark that he couldn't deny. he slips his fingers into his hair. )
I think she kinda recognized me after we talked for awhile. When I gave my name, she obviously thought I wasn't actually him. I'm younger than- than her Peter and look different. ( and that's where it gets complicated, doesn't it? because he's not her peter, but he is a peter, and- huffs. it makes his brain hurt to try to compare himself to someone he's never even met. )
[ Billy nods because he knows, he didn't recognize Peter until he said his name either. ] How much younger? [ Because at his time Peter Parker was well into his late twenties??, and well if Mary Jane was too that would be awkward. ]
She said Peter-- her Peter was in college so maybe a year or two. ( It's thankfully not that level of awkward, ahem, and Mary Jane is also like eighteen so she was younger than her own Peter. Now they're more around the same age. )
( Peter's mouth opens and then closes as he processes what Billy says, because he doesn't ever remember Billy mentioning the name before. No. His dark eyes shift into concern then. He'd been hoping to talk to Billy to help get some perspective, and it sounds like Billy maybe really needed someone to talk to too about things. )

...a lot of really bad shit happened when he was here before. ( peter can fill in the blanks even without having the details, and the worry intensifies. if it happened before, could it happen again? he's going to have to keep an eye out on teddy to make sure he doesn't hurt billy again. )

[ But he's willing to give Teddy another chance. For now. ]
[ He gives Peter a slight smile. ] Yeah, im not. It's just...strange. Like every part of me is just saying to be with him because I missed him but when I stop and think about it it terrifies me. He used to be the easiest choice I ever made.

( peter grimaces apologetically, because even without the details, he can tell. it was hard and painful. it made billy question something- someone who was so important to him. and he can't help but be angry at wonderland for it- angry at the teddy who was here before. )
No. It's not lame at all. It's sweet and real, and that's- It's how it should be. But you don't want to rush into anything if it also terrifies you, and why wouldn't it after what happened before?

I'm just worried I'm making the wrong decision again, and it's all going to go to hell again and I don't think I can- I don't think I can handle it if history repeats itself. [ Because that would probably break him. ]
