Helicarrier? [ Well, so he went to Billy’s future it seemed, or somewhere close to it. ] In New York? What year?

Uhh, two thousand... nine? [ Bucky's brow scrunches together. ] Why?

[ interesting, Billy cocks his head to the side. ] Are there people called The Avengers in 2009?

Yep! It was quite the tense meeting of super humans, to say the least.

Huh. Interesting. [ He doesn’t remember a time traveling Bucky but he also wasn’t always privy to Avengers intel. ]

Learn anything you shouldn’t have?

Yeah, plenty. [ But that's all Bucky says on the matter. It's clear his easy demeanor grows a bit chilly as he takes another drag from his cigarette. ]

So, how do you know so much about the Avengers?

[actualwizard]

[ Billy can tell when he hit a nerve so he doesn’t press. The subject change is one he doesn’t mind. ]

I am an Avenger. Though back in 2009 I was a Young Avenger. I lead one of the teams right now. [ He doesn’t yet know how short lived that is. ]

Ha, no kiddin'? Like the Kid Commandos? Huh, I'm kinda surprised. [ He flicks the tip of his smoldering cigarette onto the sand beside him. ] I would've thought the government exploiting kids would've ended after we won the War.

[ Billy’s eyes follow the cigarette in Bucky’s hand before answering. ] Of course not, it’s the government. Though, to be fair Cap and Iron Man were very against it in the beginning. They kept telling us we couldn’t fight, but we were a stubborn group. Cap eventually realized it would be easier to just train us. That was a few years ago.

Cap himself? Really? [ His brown eyes are all for Billy now. He can't resist talking about his favorite hunk of a brother. ]

You mean the real one, or the other one? The one with the strange arm.

Cap himself. [ Billy knows enough to know not to jump on that bait. Though it does make him wonder what Bucky knows of his future. ]

Dang, I'm sure that hurt. [ With his cigarette pinched between his lips Buck cracks a knowing smile, cheeks dimpling. Few know that level of commitment and pain. ]

[ Billy laughs quietly. ] Actually I was more excited he knew who I was to even yell at me, then upset. Besides we didn’t listen anyway and wore him down.

Ha, I believe it! Past that hard shield, he's completely gooey.

[actualwizard]

I’ve learned that. [ Billy grins at him for a moment, before he takes on a more serious face.. ] He was just worried about us, not wanting kids to get involved. But when you can fight and you don’t- what kind of person would that have made me? Not when I could save people.

[ There's hardly anything left of his cigarette listening to Billy's conviction. With a big grin he stamps out what's left of his butt into the dry shore. ]

You're a good one, Billy.

[ Billy gives a bit of a snort at that, but he's pleased nonetheless.]

I'm not sure I'd go that far, but thanks.
